Paath Shri Sukhmani Sahib Ji

What we do ?

The Paath of Shri Sukhmani Sahib Ji is one of the most spiritually uplifting recitations in Sikh tradition. Composed by Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji, the fifth Guru of the Sikhs, Sukhmani Sahib Ji is often called the Prayer of Peace. The word Sukhmani means peace of the mind, and its recitation brings calmness, joy, and spiritual strength to the devotees.

When the recitation of Sukhmani Sahib Ji is followed by Dhadhi Varaan, the spiritual environment becomes even more powerful. Dhadhi Jathas (ballad singers) perform heroic and devotional ballads (Varaan), reminding the Sangat (congregation) of Sikh history, sacrifices, and the eternal values of bravery, faith, and devotion.

The Bhog of Shri Sukhmani Sahib Ji is a ceremonial conclusion of the recitation of this sacred Gurbani, known as the Prayer of Peace. This event is held to honor the completion of the Paath, bringing the congregation together for spiritual reflection, devotion, and blessings. When followed by Dhadi Varaan, the event combines meditation with historical storytelling through traditional ballads, creating a deeply immersive spiritual experience for the Sangat.
